Setup Guide

Step 1 - Unbox and Inspect, check everything is in the box:

  • LUMI light
  • Electronics housing
  • Power supply
  • Mounting hardware

Step 2 — Plan your placement
Before mounting, hold LUMI against your wall and decide exactly where you want it. Test your surface by pressing one mount firmly for 30 seconds and leaving it for 10 minutes before committing.
Step 3 — Mount your brackets
Clean the surface with a dry cloth. Press each mount firmly for 30 seconds. Space them evenly along your planned route.

Step 5 — Power up
Connect the round end of the power cable into the circular port on the side of the electronics box. Then use the connector from the electronics box to the LUMI tubing. LUMI will turn on automatically.
Step 6 — Connect to WiFi
On your phone, go to WiFi settings and connect to “LUMI", if a password is required type "LUMI1234"
Your browser will open automatically. If it doesn’t, type 4.3.2.1 into your browser address bar.
Go to Config → WiFi Setup
Enter your home WiFi name and password. Tap save and continue.
Wait 30 seconds. LUMI will connect to your home WiFi automatically.
Important — LUMI only supports 2.4GHz WiFi networks. If you have a 5GHz network make sure to select the 2.4GHz version.

Step 7 — Download the WLED app
Search “WLED” on the App Store or Google Play. Open the app, tap the + button, and your LUMI will appear automatically.
You’re ready. Explore 100+ effects, set schedules, sync to music and make your space yours.

• Make sure LUMI is powered on — the light should be glowing
• Wait 30 seconds after powering on before searching

• Stay within 5 metres of the unit during setup

• The LUMI setup page will load
• Do not close this page until setup is complete
Problem 3 — Entered home WiFi password but LUMI won’t connect

• After saving wait 30 seconds then open the WLED app

Problem 4 — App won’t find LUMI after setup
• Make sure your phone is on home WiFi not mobile data
• Open WLED app and tap the + button to search

Problem 5 — Mounts won’t stick
• Clean the surface thoroughly before mounting
• Best on smooth painted walls — avoid textured, wallpapered or dusty surfaces
• Press firmly for 30 seconds per mount
• Wait 1 hour before attaching LUMI — adhesive needs time to bond fully
• For indoor use only
Problem 6 — LUMI stopped working
• Check the power supply is fully plugged in at both ends
• Check JST connections at both ends of the tube are secure
• Try unplugging and replugging the power supply

Removal Guide

Lumi uses Command strip adhesives which are designed to be removed cleanly without damaging your walls

What you'll need:

  • Your fingers
  • 60 seconds per mount

How to remove:

  1. Remove the Lumi tube from the mount first
  2. Locate the tab at the bottom of the command strip
  3. Pull the tab straight down slowly, don't pull outwards, pull parallel to the wall
  4. Keep pulling slowly until the strip releases, it takes about 15-20 seconds per mount
  5. The mount will come away cleanly

Tips for clean removal:

  • Never pull the mount away from the wall before stretching the strip. this causes damage
  • Pull slowly, fast pulling can cause the strip to snap
  • If there's no visible tab, slide a piece of dental floss behind the mount to break the seal first

Important

  • Best result on smooth painted walls
  • Not recommended on wallpaper, textured surfaces or fresh paint under 7 days old
  • If any residue remains a damp cloth will remove it.
